Dollytime on this Blog

Greetings everyone. You won't find us on Facebook at the moment as it is giving us problems but instead we will be appearing in this Flutterby Patch blog so please meet us here.

Update on the caravan photo you all saw on Facebook last week. Wendy thanks you all so much for your nice comments. What fun! We were happy in the garden but a quick shower meant we all had to rush indoors and the caravan came inside as well so we were able to carry on playing in it.

Back soon on this blog (no updates on Dollytime Facebook for the foreseeable future).

Needle Cases for Sale

I recently made a pretty needle case and into it placed a number of colourful round headed pins.  I find these pins invaluable when making knitted dolls and use them in a variety of ways. I decided other doll knitters might also find them useful and so I made six pretty needle cases and placed a collection of pins into each. If you would like one of these you can see them illustrated below.

Each needle case is made from Liberty Tana Lawn. One floral design is used for the outside and a contrasting one for the inside. I've decorated the front of each with one of my Dollytime happy faces. The needle cases measure 5 inches x 4.5 inches (12cm x 11cm) and have a soft interlining. The inside leaves are felt. Each case contains 14 colourful round headed pins (7 x 3 inches long and 7 x 1.5 inches long). Accompanying each needle case is a leaflet with suggestions on how the pins can be used when making knitted dolls. Please note - the scissors in the photos are not included.

Only available to UK buyers, each needle case with 14 pins costs £9.65 plus UK 1st class postage £1.00.

TOTAL £10.65. Payment by Paypal please. I will mail a needle case to the address registered with Paypal at the checkout.

Lavender Sachet Dolls

Greeting friends. I'm just popping in to let you know about a FREE knitting pattern I have created exclusively for LoveKnitting (now LoveCrafts).

These 4 little dolls measure just 10cm (4in) and inside each is a sachet of sweetly scented lavender. They can be attached to a length of ribbon and placed on hangers in your wardrobe or amongst linen in drawers and cupboards.

To make them I used a combination of double knitting yarn in mauves, purples, lime green and white. Shown here are the lovely Paintbox yarns that used (they are available from  LoveCrafts - more details on the pattern).

You will of course require tiny sachets of lavender which are easy to make (details in the pattern). Dried lavender is easily available from online outlets and a teaspoonful is all that is required for each doll. A 10gm bag will provide you with approximately 7 teaspoons of dried lavender.

If you'd like to knit the little dolls the FREE pattern can be downloaded from the LoveCrafts website . You can also purchase the Paintbox yarn from the same website if required.

Have fun and happy knitting x

NEW - Little Angels for Christmas

Just popping in to tell you about another new pattern. It's been a busy autumn so far but this will definitely be my last pattern for 2016. Needles to say I'm already making plans for something a bit different in 2017.

Let me introduce you to four Little Angels

These cuties are only 10cm (4in) tall and so the perfect size to hang on your Christmas tree. They are quick and easy to make and perfect for utilising all those odds and ends of yarn left over from other projects. They are knitted with double knitting yarn on 2.75mm needles (USA yarn - light-worsted/Australia - 8 ply). If you'd like the pattern you'll find it in my Etsy shop (it should be available from Ravelry and LoveKnitting by tomorrow).

Little Angels pattern can be found HERE

Happy Angel knitting everyone x
